Ronald Lay is an international mental health practitioner, researcher and artist.

He enthusiastically embraces collaborative paradigms to engage a range of communities through arts participatory projects, drawing reference to inclusivity, the celebration of one’s creativity, and the importance of connectedness to others through the inherent power of artmaking.

He is recognized for his long-standing and profound work within forensic mental health, he leads a prestigious postgraduate art therapy program in Southeast Asia, and champions the development of art therapy in this region in ways that are culturally relevant and meaningful within Asian contexts.

He maintains credentials and professional memberships with the Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapies Association (ANZACATA), Art Therapy Credentials Board (ATCB), the American Art Therapy Association (AATA), and the Art Therapists’ Association Singapore (ATAS).

Singapore-based, his global outreach continues through workshops, presentations, consultation and supervision.

He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Education from the University of Western Australia.
